Airport transfers

Getting to and from Gold Coast Airport

The Gold Coast airport is just a 20 minute drive from Broadbeach North, where the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) is located. Please see the following transport options:


A taxi fare from Gold Coast Airport to Broadbeach North is approximately A$75.  If you would prefer to pre-book your taxi during your stay on the Gold Coast, please refer to:

You can request a ride from Uber from the Airport. Just request your Uber once you have exited the terminal and your driver will meet you at the Uber pick up point which is located at the northern end of the terminal, outside the departures area. 

A typical UberX (low cost ride) to the GCCEC costs A$34 – 45 and a typical UberSELECT ride (higher end service) to GCCEC costs A$55-73For more information on Uber please see here.

To get around by the TransLink bus, train, tram and ferry services you require to purchase a ticket. This can be either a paper ticket, a one day limited go explore card or if your staying for a few days, you can purchase a go card and save up on all service fares.


The bus route 777 departs every 15 minutes from 07:00 am to 07:00 pm from the airport to Surfers Paradise and Southport.

The bus route 760 departs every 30 minutes from the airport to Varsity Lakes Train Station.

Public Transport

Local bus, coach, taxi and limousine companies operate regular services to all major attractions, hotel and shopping centres.

There is a bus stop directly in front of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway. There are also taxi and limousine ranks at the main entrance.

You can also access the rail line to Brisbane via a bus from The Star Gold Coast.

G:link Light Rail

The Gold Coast’s G:link light rail system is a 13-kilometre corridor connecting Griffith University to Broadbeach, passing through the key activity centres of Surfers Paradise and Southport.

The service provides an easily-accessible and affordable transport option for patrons and guests, with the Broadbeach North Station conveniently located just metres from the Centre’s main entrance.

Services run 7-days a week, approximately every 10 to 15 minutes. The network connects the Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise entertainment and dining precincts to a great diversity of accommodation – every style and budget, from resort accommodation to five-star hotels with a travel time of 10 minutes.

On the Gold Coast, the average temperatures in August are 10-22 ºC (50-72 ºF)

Venue parking

The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre’s car park entrance is at the northern end of the building, accessible from traffic lights off the Gold Coast Highway and the main driveway off TE Peters Drive. 

Undercover car spaces are available for short-term parking. A $12 inclusive of GST flat rate is charged for car parking at the centre.

Shops on the Gold Coast open from 0900 to 1730 hours during the week with late night shopping on Thursday until 2100 hours.  On Saturday, most shops open from 0900 to 1700 hours. 

The closest Shopping Centre to the GCECC is Pacific Fair which is newly renovated and offers you more than just shops to explore.

In addition to that you can explore a few other shopping centres nearby such as Surfers Paradise Centre, Chevron RenaissanceHarbour Town, Marina Mirage and Robina Town Centre. Please refer to their websites for individual opening hours.
