Registration is open to anyone interested in the Dietitians Association of Australia 36th National Conference 2019.

Anyone intending to attend the Conference must complete a Registration Form. Please read the below registration information before you complete the Registration Form. Should you experience any difficulties please contact the Conference Managers at dietitians@arinex.com.au.

Please choose your registration category carefully, as we are unable to issue refunds for the Conference Networking Event portion of your registration fee.

*Financial members of Dietitians NZ are entitled to the DAA member rates. Please supply a copy of your current membership receipt with your registration.

**To qualify for ‘student’ rates, you must be a member of DAA in either the ‘student’ or ‘full time study’ category.  You will need to provide your DAA membership number to the Conference Managers upon registration. Aboriginal Health Workers are also entitled to receive the student rate. 

***To qualify for ‘Retired Member’ rates, you must be a member of the DAA within the ‘Retired’ category. You will need to provide your DAA membership number to the Conference Managers upon registration.

^A limited number of DAA Branch Grants are available to DAA members. Grants can be used for accommodation, travel or registration to the DAA National Conference. Please see your DAA Branch Network webpage and click on your state and select the Grants and Awards page for more details.

 

 Payment Plan *new*

The DAA 2019 Conference Management Committee is pleased to offer the opportunity to pay your registration in three instalments using credit card. The payment plan option will be available during the Early Bird registration period and will cease after Early Bird Registration closes on 13 June 2019. 

The first payment will be processed when you register for the conference and the following two payments will be processed from your credit card automatically on the 15th day of the following month. For delegates opting to take the payment plan in June, the final instalment will be processed on Monday 5 August (1 week prior to conference).

For example, if you register for the conference in April 2019, the 1st installment of payment will be processed immediately on the day of registration. The second installment will be processed on the 15 May 2019 and third/final installment will be processed on 15 June 2019.

Please note there is a $50 processing fee and for any unsuccessful. An additional $25 fee will be charged for any failed installment payments.

Registration Entitlements

Full conference registration

Three day registration fees (categories A, B and C) include:

  • Name badge, a list of delegates via the Conference mobile app, and Nutrition & Dietetics (Journal of the Dietitians Association of Australia) electronic supplement with all abstracts published
  • Attendance at Conference sessions
  • Attendance at a workshop or seminar on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday*
  • Attendance at a sponsored breakfast seminar on Monday and/or Tuesday*
  • Attendance to the Welcome Reception on Monday 12 August 2019**
  • Morning/afternoon teas and lunches as per the program
  • Access to the Trade Exhibition and Poster Display during advertised times
  • Access to the Market Place.

* Please select your preferred workshops, seminars and breakfast sessions via the registration form. Registration includes access to one of these sessions in each time slot they are offered, however your first preference cannot always be guaranteed, as places are limited and filled on a first in basis. Register early to avoid disappointment!

** Registration category A is inclusive of a ticket to the Welcome Reception on Monday 12 August 2019 and the Conference Dinner on Tuesday 13 August 2019. Registration categories B and C do not include a ticket to the Conference Dinner. Tickets may be purchased separately.

Student and retired member registration

Student/retired member three day registration fees (category D**) include:

Day delegate registration

Day delegate registration fees (categories E, F, G and H) include:

  • Name badge, a list of delegates via the Conference mobile app, and Nutrition & Dietetics (Journal of the Dietitians Association of Australia) electronic supplement with all abstracts published
  • Attendance at Conference sessions on the nominated day of attendance
  • Attendance at a workshop or seminar on Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday, if attending on these days*
  • Attendance at a Sponsored Breakfast Seminar on Monday and/or Tuesday, if attending on these days*
  • Morning/afternoon teas and lunch on the nominated day of attendance
  • Access to the Trade Exhibition and Poster Display during advertised times
  • Access to the Market Place when available.

*** Attendance at the Welcome Cocktail Reception on Monday 12 August 2019 is not included in Registration categories E, F, G and H, but may be purchased separately. 

Group registration

The Group registration form is available here. Group registration is only available for 5+ delegates attending from one organisation. Upon completion, the group leader will be emailed a tax invoice and one payment can be completed. Group registrations will not be split onto multiple invoices. There are no discounts offered for group registration. 

Should names not be known at time of registration, please use TBC 1, TBC 2 etc to proceed. Names are required by Friday, 7 June 2019. Group registration will close on Monday, 29 July 2019. 

The Group registration form must be received by the Conference Managers on or before 12 June 2019 to be eligible for the early registration fee and payment must be received by 12 June 2019, even without the list of participants. The final list of participants must be submitted by 12 July 2019. Should this deadline not be met, the difference between early and standard registration fees will apply and must be paid in order to process the Group registration.

Payment options

Online Registration is preferred. Please visit our secure online registration portal from 15 April 2019 to register and book your accommodation in ‘real time’. Please note all online registrations require immediate payment by credit card.

Accepted credit cards:  MasterCard, Visa and American Express. All transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to ‘Conference by Arinex’.

Other Payment Options:  If you are unable to pay by credit card please contact the Conference Managers for assistance via dietitians@arinex.com.au.

Cancellation and Refund

Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Conference Mangers at dietitians@arinex.com.au.

Registration Fees:

Cancellations before 14 May 2019 will incur a A$150.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations from 14 May 2019 to 11 July 2019 will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations on or after 11 July 2019 will receive no refund.

Accommodation Fees:

One night’s deposit must be paid at time of booking to guarantee reservation.
Deposit is non-refundable as at 11 July 2019.

Social Function Fees:

Payments are non-refundable as at 11 July 2019.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Conference and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference, or through cancellation of the Conference, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.

Private Functions

It is requested that you advise the Conference Managers of any private /corporate functions that might be planned outside of the official program. The Conference Managers would be pleased to assist with arrangements for any of these events.

Recordings/copyright

The Conference Managers reserve the right to use any recordings whether audio or video and/or any photographs taken at any stage during the conference for promotional, advertising or reporting of the conference and/or its content at their sole discretion.

 

 

go Event Card

The go Event card allows DAA 2019 delegates unlimited travel over three days on South East Queensland’s public transport network for a one off cost of $12.00 per delegate. It is valid on all TransLink bus, train, tram and ferry services using go card in South East Queensland. *Please note that travel on Brisbane Airtrain is not included.

Utilise the go Event card and travel to DAA 2019 conference dinner venue seamlessly. A G:Link tram stop is conveniently located in front of our venue, Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (Broadbeach North Station). The tram stop for DAA 2019 conference dinner venue is the Surfers Paradise North Station.

Trams runs every 15 minutes, from Monday – Sunday from 5:00am to midnight. On the weekend, it runs every 30 minutes from midnight to 5:00am. The G:Link is a very convenient way to travel and discover iconic locations in the Gold Coast such as Surfers Paradise, Skypoint Observation Deck and Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. TransLink’s bus network can connect you to places all over the Gold Coast such as beaches and theme parks while Queensland Rail train services will connect you from the Gold Coast to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast.
